Olton (Solihull), St Margaret’s

2021: rebuild and re-ordering of the three-manual instrument, 44 stops.

This rebuild involved a full chamber re-ordering, with new direct electric soundboards for Great and Choir. The traditional Swell organ was turned through ninety degrees to improve tonal egress, and the sluggish electro-pneumatic action replaced with ‘Heuss’ direct pallet magnets.

This booklet on the organ of St Margaret’s, Olton is written by Paul Hale.
