2012: rebuild and re-ordering of the two-manual 1905 Brindley & Foster organ on new direct electric modular soundboards, 22 stops.
The organ had been installed in All Saints’ from a church in North Yorkshire in 1977. The Brindley & Foster pneumatic ‘multi-pallet’ action was in urgent need of attention, the layout was not well suited to All Saints, and tonally the instrument was not ideal. We undertook a major re-ordering of the chamber layout, constructing new bespoke modular soundboards and a larger swell box. The Great organ now speaks out west through the nave arch to lead the congregation, and the Swell, now also facing west, speaks clearly into the chancel and nave.
